Blue Apron Fulfillment Center

Blue Apron was one of the first meal kits available in the U.S. and the company’s delivery service remains one of the most popular and highly rated today. Their meal plans are inclusive of many different dietary needs, making them a convenient choice if you’re looking to take the guesswork out of the age-old question “What’s for dinner?”

Blue Apron has fulfillment centers in California, Texas, and New Jersey. We worked on their fulfillment center in Linden, NJ, which features a gorgeous office space and two test kitchens.

For this project, we worked with the Stellar Group, a Florida based design-build firm, along with global design firm Perkin Eastman, to bring Blue Apron’s vision of their workspace to life.

The office space boasts a large open air workspace, conference/meeting rooms, and phone rooms, which allow for more privacy to conduct important phone calls. We installed our custom steel partitions along with steel and glass doors at all of the enclosed rooms. Our steel doors were outfitted with brushed stainless steel hardware to accent the blackened patina finish and create a nice contrast.

The space has a ton of natural light. To allow that light to carry through the space and create a warm atmosphere, we used our Steel Slim Line system, which has a narrow profile. The grid kits installed on the glass partitions and steel doors give them a bit of depth, as well as a more unique look than the standard aluminum interior office partitions that are so frequently used.

We also installed a steel and glass feature wall, within a large steel frame that extended from floor to ceiling. The wall has a grid pattern of ½” glass panels in varying sizes, giving it a cool, asymmetrical look. It is a showpiece that catches your eye as soon as you enter the space, while also acting as a room divider between the communal area and one of the kitchens.

This was one of our favorite projects. It was an exciting opportunity for us to welcome Blue Apron to our home state of New Jersey!
